CATHOLIC PRIEST AND AWARD-WINNING AUTHOR RELEASES SEQUEL
Retired Priest William Messenger releases Beleaguered Truth: Book Two of Shattered Triangle Trilogy
Los Angeles, CA — Following the success of his first novel, Los Angeles native and retired priest, William (Bill) Messenger, has released an award-winning sequel. Beleaguered Truth follows the characters created for his book, Shattered Triangle: A Consequential Murder. Like its predecessor, Beleaguered Truth has quickly become an award-winning novel wining honorable mention at both the Holiday and New York Book Festivals.
“In the real world,” Messenger asserts, “not all crimes and murders are resolved to satisfaction. The three main characters in Beleaguered Truth know something no one else does, but they cannot act on it.”
In the aftermath of an officially unsolved murder, the world is spinning into chaos and the main characters of Beleaguered Truth must find a way to put their personal tragedy aside to address new and bigger realities. At the beginning of the 21century a new kind of terrorism erupts, threatening to engulf both eastern and western civilizations. Three childhood friends--a politician, an L.A.P.D. detective, and a priest whose lives and friendships have been torn apart by cold-blooded murder--must balance their response to personal tragedy with worldwide violence.
“What family or friends do not find their relationships tested by the presence of both good and evil?” Messenger queried. “These types of struggles permeated every aspect of my priestly ministry and have informed the writing of this trilogy.”
Beleaguered Truth has been described as an arresting sequel that holds the reader’s attention through its weaving of historical and fictional events and its challenges to preconceived values.
This is William Messenger's second novel.
William P. Messenger was born in Los Angeles, CA. As a child, he grew up in a poor household, but filled with music and books. William spent more than 30 years as a priest in the greater Los Angeles area. An award-winning novelist, he has also authored articles for national publications and lectured on subjects ranging from justice and peace, to politics and international affairs. In 2010, he resigned from active parish ministry and retired to Whittier, California.
